Individual breast prostheses: natural shape, comfort and self-confidence from Orthoped LLC

Prosthetics after mastectomy

After breast surgery, many women are faced with the need to use a prosthesis. This is not only an aesthetic but also a physiological aspect, since the correct choice of prosthesis contributes to an even distribution of weight and reduces the load on the spine.

Breast prostheses can be used both temporarily after surgery and on a permanent basis. In the early stages of rehabilitation, postoperative models are used, which are made of light and breathable materials, which reduce irritation of postoperative scars and promote faster healing.

Types of breast prostheses

The choice of the appropriate prosthesis depends on the shape, material and individual needs of the patient. The main types:

Postoperative Prostheses

These prostheses are made of a cotton shell filled with a soft material that ensures comfortable wear. They are intended for temporary use in the first weeks after surgery, when it is important to avoid excessive pressure on the surgical area.

How to choose a breast prosthesis?

When choosing, you should consider:

  • Degree of fit and level of comfort during movement.
  • Weight, which should be balanced to avoid strain on the spine.
  • Fixation method – traditional or self-adhesive option.
